Hypnotherapy can be used to help you end your cannabis habit quickly and painlessly.
Cannabis addiction can be described as a compulsion or a craving. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help by addressing the compulsion directly by removing the craving in a relatively short space of time.
Treatment will also help you to overcome any fears you may have about life without it, it can also show you how to build a fulfilling life after cannabis and give you an idea of how good it can feel to be free, of telling yourself you have finally quit and are able to see more clearly now the smoke has cleared.
"Cannabis use does not lead to physical dependency but can lead to psychological dependency. Fortunately by changing your thought patterns this means you can stop using it, feel better and never miss it."
Symptoms of cannabis addiction:
- Increased tolerance
- Unsuccessful efforts to cut down or control use
- A great deal of time spent in using the drug
- A reduction in social, occupational or recreational activities
- Continued use despite knowing it will cause significant problems
Use of cannabis in whatever form (solid, weed, resin etc) can last for tens of years, the intake often increases as the body adjusts to the dose. For many clients it became a way of life. Most people seeking help have reached a point in their life where they no longer wish to be so reliant on the substance. Many studies agree that cannabis use does not result in physical dependency; people may become psychologically dependent. The fact that we are dealing with psychological dependency is what makes hypnotherapy so appropriate in treatment.
It is possible to end the habit quickly and painlessly. The method is tailored to suit the individual and all eventualities are considered. The cannabis habit is similar to the tobacco habit. In both cases there are many ways of helping someone to stop. It is not unusual for someone to deal with both habits at the same time.
Melanie Cook Hypnotherapy uses a mix of Solution Focused Therapy and Hypnosis in order to bring about the required changes. After a 1 hour Initial Consultation where information is gathered from the client they will be given an understanding of how the brain works, how we can suffer from these cravings and what we can do about it.
"It is possible to end the habit quickly and painlessly. "
The client will be given a CD or MP3 to listen to which will help the process and an appointment will be made for when the client is ready. At the first session the client will be accustomed to the voice of the hypnotherapist from using the CD or MP3 each night prior to the appointment and will be able to relax easily into trance. Trance is when the two minds (the primitive and the intellectual) are focusing on the same thing, when we are in this state we have access to the subconscious and this is going to help us enormously. Client remains is completely in control at all times.
The client will be given the tools required to control their own mind and to take the necessary steps to positive change. Hypnotherapy is used to reorganise the mind at an unconscious level. People can respond in different ways. Some find that the craving is gone completely and immediately and simply stop taking the drug at once, forever. Some lose the craving for a few days and later it may return for which case they are given the help to control and overcome it. Some find that the craving does not disappear entirely, but loses its power; they find that they learn a process to deal with it by avoiding cannabis and it gradually wears away.
